My Mother had 6.5 Tommi Makinen Edition, which she's just sold. Without a doubt, one of the fastet cars i've driven. It could stay with my fathers 550M up to 180k's where it had a speed cut.

Totally badass car. Recaro TomCat seats are awesome. The brembo's were awesome, and the Enkei wheels suited the car very well.

I swear i got pulled over every time i drove it, they're cop magnets, although that may just be the fire engine paint job, white wheels and bi-plane rear wing. I miss that car alot, was awesome fun on gravel!

I've driven both an STi and an Evo VIII, and the STi felt by far more composed and overall quicker. I love the STi styling, as well.

And I agree, the Evo VI was the sexiest of them all.

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

Is the VI equipped with the active yaw control and center diff? Just curious.

I've never driven an Evo,as the Mitsu dealer here (like anywhere I'm sure) is very tight on testdriving. I did get folded nicley and tucked in for bed by a black Evo a few months back. As for Subaru, there are about 3 STi's for sale across the street from me. Adside from specs, I don't know much about either for driving experience. I hear the Evo VIII can be caught at higher speeds, since its turbo is a smaller version. Again, just what I heard.

I'm with Ryan regarding the upcoming RS (or is it MR?) reputed to be 300lbs lighter than the stock Evo and good for 0-60 in 4.3 sec.

he didnt really work him, he had me in the car to slow him down, and from a roll it was close i mean damn close,no car lengths or nothing, just us in the evo and jeff at our door.
from a stop it was all over. will was shifting his evo by the time the m3 was doing like 15 mph.

Wait till 2005 (or 2006) when they release the bi-turbo edition of the STi. 8)

For those waiting for the RS...don't bother. It's only 1xxlbs lighter, and doesn't gain anything worthwhile in performance numbers. SCC did a back-to-back comparo with the loaded one.

Where did you hear that nonsense??

They have just changed the Legacy's to single turbo (from twin turbo), obviously because it improved perfromance (funny thing is, it uses a Mitsi TD05HR LOL).

The WRX STI will stay single turbo because of it's use in the Group N WRC, unless I missed something and they are giving up on production rally cars, I doubt it! That would be handing the trophies to Mitsi.

I read many car magazine articles...the MITSU EVO outpoints the WRX slightly...should I get one the only thing I would change asap are the tailights to the JDM's, plain red with white clears. Silver with Black or Gunmetal rims.

                      No Altezza looking crap.
