    Increase In ETA HP...

    Hi,
I own and drive daily a 1987 325es. The car:
    • 2 door, black
    • ~225,000 miles
    • 100% stock, zero mods

What can I do to increase my horsepower? Experienced E30'ers? Simple mods that could get me to about 160+ Hp? I don't have the experience/time/money to install a turbo or anything really technical. I don't want to spend a lot of money, but would like more power...tips? advice? please...and, thank you!

    -J.

Not going to happen. The best thing to do is buy a Mark D chip and a 3.25 LSD from a 535is and swap the cover and output flanges. Leave it alone other than that and just do maintenance. Get a nice set of springs/shocks, maybe sways and replace all those worn out bushings and other worn suspension components and it will be a joy to drive.

I don't know if your the one that PM'd me or not about wat i did to my eta? Anyway a chip+exhaust will increase it some and a set of gears will help but won't add HP. Maybe a set of 3.25 gears

What i did to my 85 eta:
        long tube headers
2 1/4" exhaust with no cats and a set of glasspacks
        cone k&n air filter
deleted the coolent to the throttle body
        3.73lsd
My 87 is bone stock and i haven't desided what i want to do to it power wise yet.

my (dan's) old eta had a shaved head, m20b25 throttle body, modified m20b25 air box, chip, exhaust, plug wires, prob some other stuff I can't think of. It put down about 130hp to the wheels, 170 tq. so the factory numbers at the crank, but at the wheel.

so it is possible to get a little more power out of these. and still get good gas mileage

Sorry, in the end, it's still an eta.

                      That's why I got a Super Eta! :D hehe

uhhh...i want a super eta right right now. I'm envious, Sean and all you others

like that one guy's thing says (if I recall correctly) 'speed kills those who don't have it'

                        Godamn

it's really not THAT amazing. My car only really has a bastardized head and a special bottom end, oh and a newer engine harness.

All that could be easily fixed with an M20B25 swap. lol

But, don't get me wrong, I love being envied! ;-)

super eta with some boost could be fun.

Eventually, my car will consist of boost. But, for now, I need a car that is reliable and don't have the money. When college is done, the boost will begin.

Speaking of boost...lots of people boost eta's - I suppose that would be doable??
