My 85 did this when i first got it. I think there is a drain on the pass side firewall that gets pluged up.

where does the plug drain from? is it the cowl vents under the windshield?

The plug is by the valve cover and looks like a flat peice of hose, and i think it's for the cowl vents. When i took mine off it had alot of dirt and crap in it and i also blew out the sun roof drains to so i don't know witch one was the proplem but i don't have a wet floor no more.

What JasonC said. The drain is about in line with the valve cover on the firewall. It looks like a little elephant trunk pointed down. Pull it off, clean, reinstall, done.

so you just pull the little "elephant trunk" piece off with your hands? no tools required?

that "elephant trunk" can be kind of a bitch to put back on. at least mine was.

I had similar problems. here are some of the things I did:
-I used an air compressor to blow out my sunroof drain tubes and cleaned out the "elephant trunk".
-Then took off my front center console and made sure the drain tubes behind there were hooked up as they tend to become unhooked.
-I also found a serious rust hole in my firewall underneath the vent thing by my windshield wiper, so I plugged that up with seam sealer. (ghetto, yes, but what can I do?) I think this was caused by salty winter roads and the PO driving without a fender liner.
-I still had a leak so I traced it down with a hose and found that my trunk seal was bad, the water would drip in my trunk and drain in behind the passenger rear seat and pool up on the passenger rear floor. So i replaced it and put new weatherstripping glue down. no more leaks.
