Turbo Guys!! Do you have this Problem...??

I tried to do many things but nothing, always the same, alwasy I smell like shit, I mean I smell like oil burned when I boost the car, that was since I dropped my turbo in there.

I have a recirculated bypass (OEM BMW oil-separaotr device) from the crnk ventilation (below the intake manifold) routed up to the elbow sucker. No oil is comming.

Niether oil leaks....what could be?? Skatanic has the same probem as me, he told was smelling the same shit as my bimmer smells when boost is in demand...

    any input?

    Thanks

Could possibly be the fact that your cars just burning oil,
do you notice oil underneath your car? Possibly coming
in contact with the manifold or exhaust pipe? Have you
noticed the need to add additional oil? How are all your
seals, is there a possiblity of them being cracked or worn?
Is your oil bubbly when you check it (sign of burnt oil)

It's going to be a pain, but you might have to walk back
from the turbo through the engine to find out what might
                be happening.

No one of those signs has my car, all is in good shape and is working like it should be, looks like I'm not the only one, many other members told me that has the same problem as.

E30'Godz, I have had the same problem(and still a bit) I routed in the same form but always was getting oil residues inside of the intake manifold elbow of the turbo.. I just routed in other way and dropped a oil/fumes device separator, but alwasy I have a bit of oil in the mouth of the turbo...

cant totally avoid it..though you could get a check valve and then route it to the exhaust? even though that doesnt make sense to me, the guy who did the turbo bmw write up on bmwe30.net did something like this.

Hmm... smell comming from the crank-case vent... good idea, didn't think of that.

As for oil, my car leaks a little oil from the shitty pan seal, but it doesn't contact the manifolds.

mine also leak a bit of oil but in the front crank seal, it doesn't contact the manifolds also.

Ok, open crank-case vents will make this smell whenever you get on boost. I just confirmed that.

You would need some sort of oil/air separator or filter to make it NOT smell.

yup , that's what I putted, like I aid twice before, I dropped a OEm BMW oil/separtor device in that line, the accumulated oil return to the pan where I made a "Y" pipe attached of the turbo oil return.

Anyways, I can smell that always when I boost, at first I ran the breather from the valve cover but was getting a lot of oil in the turbo and I tought it was the problem.
