    Boston!!!

hey guys, im looking into going to grad school up in Boston. I just wanted to know some of the stuff about the Boston area like winter climate, cost of living, any good snowboard parks, anything useful that you can give me. I loved Boston when I visited on my 22nd B day, but just wanna know some of the intricacies that might not be in a travel guide. Thanks!

Boston Sucks. Way to crowded and i thought i was going to be lost and i even had my Garmin.

there are ski resorts by Mt Washington, (2 1/2 hours away) and i know its very expensive, my wifes uncle lived there.
    NEED SOME VINYL STICKERS???

Boston is not bad. Very crouded and lots of stuff going on. The climate is not bad, although it can be very cold in the winter and hot as balls in the summer.

As people have said...Boston is crowded as hell, but it's a great city to be in if you want to be in the city.

You've got the green monster, trains connecting everything, and the suburbs are only 30 min outside as well the ocean somewhat close as well. There is lots to do no matter where you are...my family used to live in Newton so that was far enough away but close enough to have a good time. Enjoy the humidity and bugs blahhhhh

Boston is one of the greatest cities in the country. It has everything. You get all 4 season, which includes a cold winter and hot summer. But spring and fall are awesome. Boston in the fall is tough to beat. There are a ton of good bars and more chicks than you can shake a stick at. Cost of living is expensive. Pick up a Boston Globe or Herald and look in the classifieds. I lived there 5 years ago and was paying $1000 a month for a 1 bed in Jamaica Plain. You do not want to live in the southern part of Dorchester/Roxbury and stay the hell away from Mattapan. As far as snowboarding goes, you've got Wachusett about an hour west, as well as some smaller places north within the same driving distance. Drive for 2 hours and you've got access to some excellent resorts with some of the best parks around. I've been a New England rider for more than a decade, and the park techs up north will build more than you can handle. The US open is held right over in VT! I've travelled quite a bit around the US, and maybe I'm a little biased because I grew up not far from there, but Boston is a great place to live. Now go on over to the Green Dragon Tavern and get yourself a Guiness and a bowl of chowdah.

boston is sick man, plenty of bars with all the younger chicks down in the fanuel hall area, loon mtn has a great snowboard park which is about 2 hours north on 93, you got fenway and the sox, and by the time u get here the celtics will be nasty as well as the pats so its great for sports. if you like italian food theres always the north end, and the irish crowd in southy. always lots to do, the temperature isnt that bad int he winter, though ive lived here my whole life, my buddies were payin about 2700 for a 3 BR with two baths in the north end about 6 months ago till they moved out so its not tooo bad. great city with tons of tradition.

I believe enlightenment is a state you get to after you tighten a flare nut to the brake proportioning valve thing on the DS shock tower 20 degrees at a time, which Mike and I have done, at the cost of our sanity.
