How much value does hardtop add?

I bought a 92 325ic with the hardtop. The car needs some restoration that could be funded by the sale of the hardtop. My question is, would i get more for the car with the hardtop than i would by selling it seperately?

not unheard of to see 1000.00 usd come from the sale of the hardtop.

I'd sell it separately. You can get over a grand easily for one. I was even contemplating going out and buying a car with a hardtop, keeping the top and selling the car, just so I can have one for my car. They dont seem to sell for much more when the have hardtops, at least from what I've seen.

        The hardtop is absolutely worthless.

Tell you what, I'll come pick it up and take it off your hands.

Parts for a car will always yield more money than the whole car. A car's value is usually based on the overall condition more so than the accessories and options. I have a parts car that I was able to get for $200 because it didn't run, however, after I used what I needed from the car, I was able to sell off some of the other parts and make my $200 back.
