    An Inquiry

Say i have a suprememly low mileage M20 fom an 325i

And i want to put it in a perfect chassis, so i can have a beautiful little weekend cruiser, low mileage E30 that looks amazing and whatnot.

Say i find that chassis, but there is one bad thing.

Its a 325ix. what needs to be done to the M20, to get it to work with the ix chassis?

          Couldn't you just swap subframes?

            ahh i see.

            well then.

is there any way to remove all the drivetrain to the front and just 'turn' in into an i?

I don't know if the iX guys get as offended as the s14 guys, but to be on the safe side I wouldn't try it..

If it's truly an iX in great condition it's a RARE car. Most iX's were driven in the snow and beat to death. So it's much more rare and valuable as a pristine iX than as an iX with a frankenstein 2wd conversion.

Yeah, its a bronzit (i know everyone hates the color) coupe.

Only bad thing is the high mileage, and its an auto. and there is a bit of rust on the rear valance near the exhaust

It is available at an unbelieveable price. the owner has no idea what hes holding onto.

Should i pick it up, replace the valance and clean it up, do maintenance, and sell it for 3 times what i will pay for it?

Sell the low milage M20 and use the money to rebuild the motor out of the IX.
