M7 is it just a concept or is it real?

It is real. I've just seen one today. Couldn't believe it. I thought BMW's first thought was to have V10 motor in it. Seems like they changed it to V8 motor in the production.

I know they have a supercharged Alpina 7 series. I think it makes either 400 or 500hp

The Alpina makes 500 HP with a supercharged V8. I bet that is what you saw. Comes with 21" Alpina wheels, simmilar to Kopi wheels or the 16" e30 Alpina wheels.

BMW has never made an M7 and to the best of my knowledge never made even a M7 concept. BMW has said that they would not make one bacuase they feel it doesnt fit in with the performance image of BMW M.

On another note... I know of a few people who have made their own take on what an M7 would be with badges and everything. You also maybe saw a B7

I think they said something a little bit different. The 5 isn't exactly small either. But that's the right idea.

There were supposedly a small number of E23s that were assembled by BMW in South Africa with the S38 and a manual transmission of some sort, but that's about the closest thing to a factory M7 as there ever has been.

I've seen S38 conversions in E32s done by shade tree guys like us... That sounds fun, but it's a lot of car to move... My guess is that starting with a 735i is the only way to go as they were the lightest E32s we got here in the US.

There are some e38s with the M badge on them. I bet they are fake, but I think that there may be an M trim package. For style only, not performance. Also, you can get an e83 with the M package. Also the e53 4.6is X5 has M stuff in it.
