    Later guys.

I just bought a 1990 16v 2L jetta GLi. Its a wolfsburg too. I needed a car and my search of german early 90's cars came out to this one. I like the egine a TON. Even with a lot of miles on it it still pulls strong. Its much faster than I would of thought out of a 4 cylinder.

Its completely stock and will remain so untill the car is back to almost mint condition.

Ill still be around but for the most part ill be at the vortex. See ya guys and thanks for all the help.

Enjoy your GLI, they're getting harder and harder to find. I almost sold my e30 for an A2 jetta. Keep us updated.

            later on man...
hope you don't get dicsouraged when the car starts falling apart and things you would never see break on an E30 break every week on the VW...
I am tainted though... i had a '95 jetta and sold it for a '90 corrado g60, boy was that ever a mistake.
            Enjoy!!

              yeah, the g60s are horrible.

but i beg to differ on, well, pretty much every other VW- all the money i ever spent on my 2 VR6's was either for oil/filter or modifications... same with my 16v, until i spun a bearing at something like 200k on the engine. i did have to replace a wheel bearing on the A3 golf i bought an ex-gf... once.

maybe i just got lucky, but they all seemed pretty hard to break, and it's not as if i didn't try.

Yea i know, I would rather have an E30 but im way to picky. Its nice to learn other cars too. The fit and finish in the interior and things like that leave a little to be desired but ill manage.
Yea its the one I posted about earlier.

Noice choice....they "feel fast" ;) but are not really that fast. In stock form they are no match for an m20b25.

You would want to compare it to an m42 e30 to be kinda even. Wanna race :firehop: ??

I almost bought one myself back in the day, I love 16v GLis. When you have a crave for power, dump in a VR6

I really don't get what all you guys see in those second gen golf/jettas. Not particularly attractive cars, don't handle all that well, aren't really quick, have the typical detached FWD driving characteristics, and have all the QC of a mid 80's mexican built car.

                          Who knows.
