Hi all,
I'm looking at this 89 325i tomorrow. Ask is $1600. It's totally stock, body is pretty clean. Any suggestions or thoughts?

kinda hard to tell from the pics but it looks like a decent car. I would try to get it in the $1k -$1200 range if you can. What is the mileage ? A/C work ? recent timing belt water pump ? check how the suspension feels too

drive that thing hard around the block and see if it overheats...

165xxx on the clock. By report the A/C blows cold. Apparently it has a manual sunroof that doesn't close properly. Don't have much more info than that.

haha, its just the coclor that most people hate, dont worry about it..
check the spare tire well in the trunk for rust and (as said above) drive the hell out of it for a block or 2 after it has heated up and mkae sure it doesnt over heat...Looks pretty clean though.

What a waste of time. It was a complete bust. The car wasn't nearly what I was expecting. From now on, I'm not talking to anyone who spells it "beamer." What a mess.

So, I continue my search. If anyone has a lead on a straight, rust free E30 in the tri-state area, I wants.

It was really a mess. the exterior was pretty rough, a lot of missing trim and bent up chrome, the paint was awful. the interior was a complete mess, dash board cracks, rips in the seats, headliner falling out, stains everywhere. I guess there was water leaking into the interior up front (maybe through the through the glove box?) and sunroof b/c it was wet inside (and it hasn't rained here too recently). Mechanically, the car had been sitting and hadn't had much maintenance for some time. I thought it would need a lot of work and who knows if the transmission of diff had ever been flushed-- there were no maintenance records to be had. The stock suspension actually felt pretty stiff. That and the fact that it had very little rust and a straight body, didn't give me enough to try resurrecting this one...maybe it was just the bronzitbeige that turned me off.
