750 lb. engine stand, $29.99. Can't beat that.

Now, if only I had something to bolt up to it... :nice:

I hate that when you see a tool on sale for next to nothing, you HAVE to buy it right then and there...It sucks.

My buddy and I had to re-enforce his 3-wheel engine stand when we pulled the 12 valve cummins out of his dodge. it now has 6 wheels and 2 support bars on the main vertical bar of the stand.

              Cool beans.

+1 on the having to reinforce cheapo engine stands so they don't bend. A little triangulation and some extra wheels is all you need :p

But I had a reason to buy it, so it's all good.

Don't feel bad about bending engine stands, that inline 6 really torques that vert. beam. - I bent my Dad's home-made one & his had held a minimum of 4 v8's & a Caterpiller turbo diesel 4 cyl without problem before I bent it.

It was 2 1/2" pipe, probably schedule 80, too light to be 40 when I lifted it into the truck.

                  Triangulation & a welder FTW.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

I want to still be able to take it apart and store it, so I'll probably just bolt a couple of diagonal supports on somewhere. Once I get my new motor, it will be on the stand for a few months over the winter while I'm working on it/cleaning it up.

I bought a 1500 LB 4 wheeled stand last summer. Currently holding my spare eta block for my 2.8. Its in a U shape rather than a H it is seriously burly. I love it.

better be careful dude. when i was building my s52 5 or 6 years ago i had this supposedly expert mechanic tell me my engine was junk because i left it on an engine stand for 3 months. he told me i would need to rebuild it as the crank was bent after that long. what a fucking tool. and this guy worked for one of the better independent BMW shops in the area. i never had much respect for him but that just finished it off.
