    Help! 1986 325e Suspension

So i just picked up a 1986 325e 2 door and I was wondering if there was any suspension options for it. I've searched but found little, the parts are mostly for 87's and up. For instance I want to turn my car into a specE30, yet bilsteins and H & R race springs don't have my car as one of the applications. So will this setup still work? or would I have to modify something to make it work? This car is generally going to be for road race, so any other suggestions on setups for my specific application would help, yet the specE30 one would be preferred.

    -Thanks

    welcome to the club.
What I'm doing to get around that is buying the bigger front struts from the later years and putting those on. The rear shouldn't be a problem.
I went with the C3 coilover kit. Just bought it, haven't installed yet.

the other thing is that you have to remember the car is over 20 yrs old, new bushings and stuff will really wake up your suspension.

I have the same car as you do. I just put in some billy sports that I got at tirerack, no problem installing them at all. Not sure, but I think that any springs from any e30 will work.

H&R races will fit but IIRC 84 and 85 325e's have the smaller diameter struts.

^^hmm so would that be true for 86's or how can i tell if i have a smaller diameter strut. Will the diameter make a difference?

The diameter only makes a difference for the shocks, which have to fit inside the strut tube.

My 325e (1986) has Bilstein Sports and Eibachs. I really want sway bars, though.
