The silent blocks usually refer to the rear suspension bushings, attaching the rear subframe to the chassis.
You're simply asking if the M20 engine motor mounts work with an M10 engine in the E30 chassis?
    I have no idea

Engine mounts.. NO Except for one one side you can use a m20 mount but not on the other. I tried, My mounts went out, or wait I may of gotten both on It's been a while since I worked on the m10 I'll have to go look.

No, neither side will work. M10's have offset studs but m20 studs are centered.

I'd still love to know of a stiffer motor mount setup though.

I just checked I have an M20 mount on the driver's side and an m10 mount on the passenger side. They work fine. I was doing my oil pan gasket and one of the mounts completly ripped apart And I had the m20 ones in the garage so I was able to get the one on but not both.

Was it a stretch? There's gotta be some tension on the mounts now, no?

I'll try it tonight if it will work
I don't think i've offset studs in my car
I've changed my studs about 6 months
and now they're again broken (OEM parts)

Not realy I had to loosen both sides slide the m20 mount in then lowered the Engine into place, I may off moved the m20 mount in one notch on the subframe I can't remebe for sure. But I've had no issues with it all.

I've installed the M20 mounts on my M10 engine
like rs4pro3 said without any compromises
and it's even better as the M10 mount

good to hear, it would be nice if they fit both sides, have you looked in to e21 mounts any for the m10?

I've changed only the drivers side and it was just bolt on

What do you mean with the E21 mounts ???

the e21 chassis also uses the m10 engine in some. The mounts from it may be different then the e30 m10 mounts I'm not sure but it's a possibility.

ok I just checked and the e21 mounts look the same as the e30 mounts. So i gues the m20 driver's and m10 passenger is the best combo for now.

I think the mounts are more engine type related instead model type

anyway thanks for your information and help
