    318i

so its been 3 or 4 months since i sold my 325i cabby 5-speed. since then ive bought and sold my 535i and Z. so now im without a car. ever since i sold my e30 i wanted to get one back. the only ones in the area are way out of my cash range zone, well only one that is. the other have problems. but everytime there is this car that kept slapping me in the face. http://reno.craigslist.org/car/413043613.html

hell the first time i saw this car for sale it wasnt damaged! i mean i have this thing against auto. trans. im more of a maunel shift person. but its pretty cheap and looks to be in descent condition. and asked him over the internets whats the lowest hes willing to go and said 1000. i havnt seen it in person. my uncle used to have a 1984 318i 5-speed and used to baby it. this was around when the car had like 12 or 13 years old. it was really nice.

so what i want to know is what are some of the things i should look for in this particular model? and the slush box what should i feel for while driving? ive heard the slush boxes have the tendency to slip.

thanks in advance and for the input.

First off, 1200 or 1000 is too much for that car. I would not pay any more than 500 even if the car was not damaged.

Problems, while i have no experence with the automatics i would suggest looking for rust around the battery, rear subframe mounts, and rockers.

GL and if you need any M10 parts let me know, i even have a 5 speed trans.
