    N54 into e30?

    anyone contemplating this or did any research for it?

    just want to see if its possible before i blow my saved money on some whack ass ebay turbo kit.

                                  Someone on e30tech put an M54 into his e30. The N54 is the new twin turbo six. There is no magnesium on this one, and no valvetronic (doesnt matter too much since the N52's valvetronic controls are now located in the DME).

                                  Technically the motor should fit with custom mounts. Just think though that you'll need to crack the dme to eliminate the ews not to mention the dme controls the electric water pump, variable rate fuel pump, the wastegates on the turbos, and the piezo injectors. I dont know if you'd be able to adapt the DME or use a standalone.

                                                      -I'm pretty sure that the n54 is not just the turbo 3.0 but also the 255hp NA version too.
