    HID advice?

who knows HID's? i have a set of apexcone 50watt 6000k hid's in my driving lights. one works fine and the other one makes a clicking noise (igniter i assume) and works about 1/2 the time. think its the ballast or igniter or what? i suppose i should contact apex but thought id ask here in case someone knew the problem
    its in these-------

ballast. i had this same problem when one of my ballasts fell off the car and i was dragging it down highway 1...

PS: holy shit those are gonna be bright in those fog light housings...

EDIT: can i see what kinda setup you have? the HIDs i use have just the ballast and the bulb...no more external igniters on newer HID setups.

Hey Blunt, Jean told me about this place.

Try running a relay to kick them off, a low voltage will cause a hiccup on HID ballasts.

dude these things are nuts when they both light. they are actually 5000k not 6000. they are hardcore bright white like a rally car. im amazed at how fucking bright these are. you want a pic of the ballasts and igniters? is that what you mean??? so i wrote understeer to see what they suggest. i hope this doesnt turn into a shitfest. i just want everything to be right

this is true with some systems. the cheaper HIDs that i used to get from China (cheap like 100/set) required running a relay to function properly. the newer HIDs from china are much improved, and dont require relays to function properly. i have HID lows+fogs, and they work flawelessly, and are only $180/set. they ARE an off brand, but from trial + error i have found them to be well worth the money.

You're not going to leave that bumper blue are you?! ;)

I would say ballast too. I had a Phillips one go to crap in my Denali - it did the same thing.

holy clean wiring job... looks great.

If the light lights up then dies or blinks its the ballast. if it doesnt even come on at all its probably the igniter. Higher end systems have the ballast and igniter in one box.

in the future i recommend this kit http://www.visionbulbs.com/

Probably a bad ballast, try swapping sides with the ballast and see if it goes with it.

I'm liking this place already, LOLing at your chin jizz comment in a different post.
