    What causes sttering wheel vibration?

My steering wheel has recently started vibrating about 40mph. What are the possible causes?

ive had a wheel weight sling off without my knowlege. I proceeded to check everything because i had just gotten the tires balanced. Took me a while to find a clean spot on the rim where it was missing, lol

sorry to threadjack, but what causes it to shake when the brake is pressed? My rotors are less than a year old, so I don't think it's that, anything else it could be?

tire balance and tire rotation are two different things. Does it go away after 40mph? If so, then its a balance issue.

Could be alotta things. Resurface your rotors, balance your tires, and basically replace all of your front suspension pieces one by one until you find the culprit!

Control arms, control arm bushings...list goes on...

I had a wheel bearing that caused it.

in my old car it was the tires. they were warped a little. seemed like it started shaking anywhere from 55-65mph. bought new tires, problem solved.

ball joints, tie rods, tire balance, flat spots, warped rotors, stuck calipers.... these can all cause said problems. NEED MORE INFO!
