Remove the cosmoline on my intake manifold and value cover? What works best without damaging the paint?

no just don't want damage surround surfaces.

well my friend just used a wire brush and sandpaper. wire brush should take car of most of it just dont brush it too hard or it will mar the surface. im sure there are some liquid solutions that someone could recomend
