I saw one earlier today in a '89 iX coupe, red. Had the armrest in the coupe! Very interesting. Maybe that'll help....

maybe its a coldweather package kinda thing. for the ski hole or whatever.

We took a look at an 89 IX at a dealership once, and it had the armrest.

It was probably a commonly chosen option with the IX.

My guess is its also part of some type of cold weather package.

My 86 320i had one. Had to constantly tell my kids to stop playing with it. So that rules out cold weather option. Mine was a base 320i with odd ball options. Sport suspension and no 15" wheels. Rear head rest but other than that nothing else.

I'm looking for a new e30 and I want one with a fold down rear seat so I can get a ski bag. It looks like it was just a ramdom option.

Reason I think it's random is my 320i did not have a area where you could pull thru the ski bag it was metal behind the arm rest.

Oh I have a ski bag it's just not in the car and the way I'm thinking about going with E30's I might not ever need one.

I had thought about selling it, but. Unsure waiting for the approval from the misses. Yea be scared. I'm bored again. I got to go fly this only happens when I sit around to much.
