I've had mine 9 years and I noticed theres quite a few "super eta's" on this forum. I have SUPR ETA as my Pennsylvania license plate. My mechanic says they are fairly rare-he's only worked on one other in the 25 years he's been a bmw mechanic. He worked 15 of those at a dealership then he opened up his own place about ten years ago. I've always wondered how many really were made. Mines a brilliant red 4 door sedan with black houndstooth interior and we've kept everything stock the way it came from the factory.

Thank god it at least has torque
I also heard somewhere along the way they may have produced 8,000 but my mechanic says less then that. The only reason I origanally bought it was because it was red-manual-sedan. Only later did I find out what it really was, after trying to order various parts online. Then I met my mechanic and we have to this point done a mini restoration on her. I know one thing since getting her all those years ago compered to my other e30's she all torque.

Funny thing
I do get some old time 5 and 7 owners who ask if she's for sale. A lady that lives down the street from us has a beautiful 535e and she really has offered good money for mine. Her husband really likes the durability of the old eta engines. I have to admit for her age my car can really surprise people with the get up and go she has. Then I have to show them all the maintance she's had over the last two years.(my poor bank account)
