There are lots of good E30s for sale in SoCal. I see 'em on Craigslist all the time, you just have to be patient. What, exactly are you looking for? I'll keep my eyes peeled for something that suits your fancy since I'm always looking for a good E30 deal. :)

Looking for a black 325is, 325i, 318is black or silver 2dr. For under $2k. i know i'm asking for a lot. Right now i have an e46 and i feel like its too heavy around the corners i want something lighter not too concerned about power. i'll post pictures if you want to see the car ^ ^

you know the more i think about it. the car's headliner is all tore up there might be a leak.

I'll watch for something that matches your description. Gotta be 5-speed, right? Does it have to run? :)

I just remembered reading this ad earlier. I know it's an E, but it's cheap and in decent shape.

It was a crapshoot in the early 90's with aftermarket moonroofs, but most were decent if motorized - you really need to either post decnt pics of the areas of the roof that trouble you, or just move on & scrap the idea of that car entirely.

Without pics, we know less than you. It's sort of the way that works.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

I've yet to see an aftermarket sunroof that does not leak.

You don't want an aftermarket sunroof. Cars with a factory sunroof have reinforcements around the hole in the roof. Cutting a giant hole in a regular roof is hell for torsional rigidity. That's one of the reasons why they leak eventually.

How cheap is it & how far are you willing to go?

Stitching in some roof skin from a junkyard E30 would solve the issue entirely, but only if you are comfortable welding. You haven't given us a lot to go on, so I don't know/ can't say if this car is a real deal & work the work - or if you should move on & leave it for someone else.

                        Any chance of pics?

I agree with the guy a few posts back on cause/reaction to leaky sunroofs, but power tilt/retract moonroofs really came a long way from '85 to '90. I worked a car lot (new Hondas), and we had a few glass roofs installed & they came with a lifetime warrenty to any owner with the paperwork in hand. They weren't cheap either, like just under $1500 out the door. It was a popular add for those 4wd Civic wagons that came with white steel wheels back then. No roof option from the factory.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

it would be a project to fix it, but if it looks good and clean from the outside i think you could seal it if it's leaking and fix any rust, also with a load of work you could get that head liner back into great condition

Okay got it fixed see post above. i don't know why that picture was hosted wrong. i don't think its worth the time and money. the moment i got into the car it didn't feel right. i am mainly concerned for rust beneath the roof.
