Just got my M Coupe out of storage today and got a 60-day temp tag for it from the DMV...

It's dusty, but happy to have been started up again. Has been on a battery tender since August 4.

I wish to own one of these fine automobiles sometime in my life. Unfortunately by that time these will be at e30 status.

Really though, if I was in the market for one, I'd have a tough time buying one simply beause they are in the same price range as e30 M3s which I also covet, repeatedly.

thats the problem i've had. hard to pull the trigger on an mcoupe vs an e30m3. Whats the smarter buy and how could any group of people agree on it. m3's have appreciated like crazy though. They are going for like 20k now for a decent one.

Original S54 models could be worth some money some day. I wouldn't mind spending the money if I had it, the Mcoupe would be practical for a daily while the M3 would be a Sunday car.

yeah thats the truth. I don't think many mcoupes are used for DD's though.

The M Coupe sucks as a daily. I lasted less than 7 days daily-ing my Coupe before I broke down and bought an E30 325e.

I love the M coupe, that body is absolutely gorgeous! I wonder what the production numbers are on that thing. They seem to be (based on price alone) a pretty good toss up with teh e30M3, but still two completely different animals.

As for future predictions on appreciated value, I haven't the slightest clue. e30M3 have definitely standed the test of time, but I wonder how high they can go? And M Coupes, its way too early to tell, but they are rare as they sit right now IMO.

I don't even know why I'm thinking about that though. I know damn well if I had one I'd be modding/DD'ing the fuck outta it.

The ride sucks? It looks like the ultimate grocery getter to me. Roomy enough for supplies and fun to drive and plenty of creature comforts. I would throw a roof rack on one, and take a kayak and a bike, fill the boot with gear and take it on a trip to Washington or Montana visiting all the national parks around.

I know a few guys who drives their Coupes to work every day.
