Stock steering wheel to Sport wheel swap horn wiring question.

I have an 88 Cabby and I just bought a sport wheel from an 87 is

I pulled the steering wheel of my cabby and noticed that there are two wire for the horn, yet on my Sport Wheel from the IS, I don't see how to connect them.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks.

Surely someone has done this swap?

I pulled the horn button off of my Cabby wheel and there are 2 wires for the horn. Where do I connect these to the M-Tech wheel I got from an 87 325is?

The M-Tech wheel has the horn buttons, one on each spoke and I don't see where to connect the wires from my car to the M-Tech wheel.

    Anyone?

        ??????????
What do you mean? You shouldn't need to use any wires. The current passes through a metal tab onto the horn ring. Thats the connection.
        Maybe you have NAWS!

So what do I do with the two existing wires?

          Terminate them?

On the Cabrio, when I remove the horn button, there are two wires connected to the button.

Anyone who has done this swap, can you tell me what to do with those 2 wires and if my horn will work with the M-Tech wheel from the 87is?

I will post pics later tonight when I get home from work.

'88 eh? Hmm.. I'm not sure if you have an airbag wheel, but my airbag wheel has a small connector for that. The horn current passes through metal rings around the shaft.

I had the same question but its really as easy as it looks.

Just put the new wheel on. One is a wired connection (the OEM vert steering wheel), the other is a contact connection (such as my M-tech I wheel). Don't worry about it. The horns will work. I did this last year and asked the same question. Those wires won't get in the way of anything so just put her on.

Thanks. Should I just tape up the existing connectors then so they are not "live"?

                  No, not an airbag wheel.

OK, Pulled the wheel last night and the wires are part of the wheel and are out of the picture once the wheel is removed.

Put new M Tech wheel and badge on and it looks sweet.

Hint: Turn key to the "on" position when attempting to remove steering wheel.

Took me a few minutes of wrestling with the old wheel and thinking I needed perhaps a gear puller then it hit me that maybe it was designed that way for anti-theft purposes.

Turned key on and wheel came right off.
