Thought I remembered seeing it was a shortened version of the e39 platform.

Swing wild, brake later, don't apologize.

IIRC these cars actually had open diffs. :(

Although it may have just been the Alpenis versions.

Wasn't there some big deal about the chassis bending and twisting after a certian amount of time?

Z1s are cool (saw one Sunday, parked next to two M1s at our annual vintage BMW gathering). While they share some parts with the E30, the chassis itself is unique. They don't have the E30 rear suspension (like the Z3) but instead a multi-link precursor to the E36 suspension.

Future issues, electrical buses, aluminium issues. gaps in bodywork. But they are sexy.

For the money I'd rather have a Porsche.

For the money I'd rather have a lightly used Aston v8 vantage.

Dear god I love how quickly British nameplates depreciate!!!!!

TVR Sagurius if I was to do anything British. Thought of a British car makes me shudder with fear. Family had a British Leyland's and Austin's and a TR7 in the 70's.

Many a night broken down during a rain storm....eck never again.

If you have not seen the top gear episode then look for the July 06 they reviewed the car.
