It's all fixable(I assume) - but it sucks.

I actually saw the guy that did it - large pick up truck with 2 hispantic dudes.

I figure I'm out $500-$1000, all cause shit head can't drive.

(BTW - I'm not going to post any pics, it's breaks my heart too much)

Umm, be prepared for the repair to cost a lot more than $1000 if there is any body damage. You mentioned grill, headlights and core support which are fairly easy to replace, but any damage to the hood/quarter panel/bumper that requires straightening or replacing will be expensive. It's all relative of course, but these are old cars and it's not hard to total them. Ask me how I know....

paying full price is for suckers... :D :D :D

Naw- I think I have a body guy that can fix some of the sheep metal(upper corner of the fenders) - and I think I might get a "come-a-long" and pull the radiator core support out myself - that's what body shops do...For the time being any paint needing fixing will be quickly ratteled can'ed - I'll wait for a full respray and do the whole car right....

About 4 years ago i was driving my pristine 89 325is through an intersection and to my left i see a Camaro going about 40 running through the stopsign, getting airborne over the dip, and he T-boned my baby in the drivers side sending me careening into the corner curbing. I forced the mangled door open and walked toward the Camaro and he suddenly restarted his engine and sped away leaving a trail of coolant. I was able to write down the plate as he boned out but it came back to a fake address and a fake drivers license. My insurance company totalled the car out. The drivers side was caved in, the rear suspension and a few CV joints were damaged, and 3 of my shiny new Revolution alloy wheels were broken. The car was practically flawless up till that point. I was almost sick to my stomach after that, then i got mad. I didn't even care that i was injured - i was more worried about the car !

I got lucky and found my current car a month later in almost the same great condition and bought it on the spot. Now i leave it in the garage except for weekends and autocrosses :-)
