Heres the story: I know the kid with the GTP, Don, from a while back. I'm hanging out with a friend from school, we go to Mcdonalds and his buddy has a fucking Chevy Beretta with a 7k dollar body kit and body work. STOCK ENGINE. Name is Mike. He is in a "racing" group called "Time Out Racing". There are 4 kids in that group with GTPs, I am not even kidding. Another has an S10 with a body kit and door poppers, another has like a 01 Chevy 2WD short bed lowered (Maybe bagged) with SS front end. Me, my friend, and the Beretta kid (Mike) were hanging out at McDonalds, then Don drives by and revs his engine and Mike called him and told him to come to Mcd. so he pulls in and his car is rod knocking everywhere. Then smokes the tires backing up and thinks hes the man. That is when I started hearing all his shit.

Too bad you can't normally do a intercooler on a S/C 3.8. The roots blower is bolted to the top of the intake. No place for a intercooler. I'm sure you can find ones that would bolt in between the intake and blower using coolant, but they ain't gonna be cheap.

I've got it worse : my friend's stepfather is the same way - any time he's around and I'm talking about BMWs with my friend (our current project is transplanting the m50 from my friend's wife's e34 for my E30) - he has to stick his nose in and say stupid stuff that's just plain wrong. Some are done by Shelby and others just has his name on them. The Sprit R/T's are sleepers, no one expects a four door to run like the way they do. When i sold my Shelby Charger i vowed that i'd never own a FWD again. But deep down inside i still would like to get a factory turbo mini van with a 5 speed and build it. And LOL at his plug wire

HOLY SHIT. This kid is such a fucking tool. He says he has an intercooler and points to the fucking tranny cooler. Then he says oh I'm getting a huge one for a hundred bucks directly from Japan. I laugh and say "Why Japanese parts on American car?" He says "It is huge and cheap" and I said "Oh ebay?" he says "Yup" I laughed.
He has a 3.50 inch pulley, headers, exhaust and a generic cone filter. Says he turned the boost up to 13lbs. I really doubt that. Then tries telling me he kept up with a 410rwhp 5.0 Fox body Stang. I said "You were either dreaming or his car was seriously running like shit" he doesn't say anything. Then goes on to say if he is going 40 on dry pavement, if he stomps on it it will break the tires free. One kid asks what his future plans are and he says "Twin turbo and methanol kit" I said "Twin turbo? WTF? Just gonna have the turbos feed the S/C?" and he says "yea" and i said that is going to be a fucking nightmare to do, have fun cutting out body parts. and he says "I'll be pushing like 600 to the front wheels, I'll have fun when I am done with it" and I said "what you gonna do about fuel?" He says "well what you mean?" I said "if you start pushing more power, you need more fuel" and he says "never thought about it."

Yeah, they put out about 200fwhp stock, if we're talking the genII 3.8l. Stock boost is only 5lbs I think and the most you can up it without software is maybe 8lbs with the 3.5" pulley IIRC. With the mods he's talking about, I'd say 250 at the wheels max, unless it's been tuned and runs a 3.25" or smaller pulley. They can make good power though with heads, cam, and all the other usual boost mods.I know you have all seen the teen age kids driving generic Pontiac Grand Prix GTP and thinking they are the absolute shit. Now what I want to know is what do those things make for factory horse to the wheels? 200?
It is a 3.8L with a SC on it.
I kid I know has beat ass one with a rod knock but it has "headers, intake and a smaller pulley" and the kid claims it is pushing 350hp to the wheels. No dyno sheet to back it up but he insists.
