    Not sure how rare they are, but this is the first one I've ever seen. It's a factory BMW e30 sunshade/dashguard. My father bought it new from BMW ~28 years ago when he owned his e30. It was tucked away years ago and forgotten about, and he found it and gave it me. Still has the original carrying bag too!

      I just purchased one from blunt I believe. I use it whenever my car is outside. Still cool your dad still had it.

                    iirc, the ix has the washer rervoir in the battery tray, so the loom connects it to the slender intensive washer reservoir. I had one of those slender washer reservoirs for years before I found out it's for an ix. I still might install my washer kit ix-style in my sedan to make use of the empty spot in my battery tray.

                          They still make these. I have one, just without the BMW logo. But it fits *perfectly* in the windshield like this.
