    temp rust repair

just need to slow it down over the winter. i can grind to bare metal, then what can i put on cheaply to stop it till i can grind off my temp repair and work on it next summer? the car is being stored outside this winter. I was just going to prime over the metal but i heard primer is porous and will let moisture through, any suggestions?

Use some rustoleum primer + then cover with rustoleum paint. If you get it down to bare metal, then you shouldn't need to do anything else to it for a long time.......

Yes, it will- but it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to get it off once it's on there, plus it's pretty expensive compared to paint.

            Pixle?

not sure what that is? could i just spray some primer and a qick coat of any auto paint to seal itjust until spring? or if i just let it sit this winter how much worse will the rust get? i can tarp it. It will get a repaint in the end either way.
