I like to sit real upright, but the sport seats even at the lowest height lend to a few whacks of the head on the roof... *ow*
Id like to get a shell seat and mount it as low to the ground as possible to avoid hitting the roof anymore.

    Evo3 is $600

I think Ill get the Corbeau for $250... unless Jay can hook me up with maybe the demo Evo3 for cheap :)

Recaro SRD is my favorite seat. It fits so nicely and is adjustable. At bimmerforums there is a group buy on Corbeaus if your interested.

I had the sport seats in my car before i picked up these Recaro SRD's. The sport seats which I had were leather and were comfortable on long drives and especially during some hot laps. However comparing the sport seats to the Recaro SRD's is difficult. I am a light guy and the SRD's hug me very well. You become a part of the car without becoming "the car." With the brackets i got for the seats they were so low I had to put some washers on the bolts just to push it up because I was on the ground "literally." Cloth will obviously hold you in better but I purchased these two seats covered in leather cheaper than 1 new Recaro so I am not complaining. The seats can become a pain to get in and out of if you run around alot but after a quick jaunt in the country I forget about it all. My vote is for the Recaro SRD. The best of all worlds....except price!

i have heard some e30 sport seats were made by recaro, but chances are 99.99999% of you don't have them.

to date, i've only seen one set of e30 sport seats made by recaro. they were for sale on ebay.de. they looked exactly like e21 recaros.

my vote goes for e21 recaros... look stock, and feel 10x better then e30 sport seats. no sliding around, and i'm a pretty skinny guy. price will probably be comparable between the two, but as was mentioned, custom brackets are needed.

My favorite seat of all is a Recaro SPG. Weighs nothing, comfortable, and excellent support(It's a fixed back shell). My dad has these in his 911 and they are awesome.

I am waiting for a pair of corbeau A4s to arrive at my door :D The shipping weight on each seat with bracket is just 21 pounds. Not too bad for a seat that is not a shell. I will post my feelings on the seats once they arrive.

I've driven thirteen hours straight to and from Michigan with a buddy without any problems. The only problem if you dont have a/c like me is that in the summer your lower back sweats pretty good when its real hot. The old E21 black cloth Recaros are also really comfortable but you would have to buy a special bracket to fit them.
No offense man, but Recaro didn't make any seats in the e30. They stopped with the sport seats in the E21.

Oh but they did. I have a set of nasty beat up ones from an E30 323i circa 1986ish. They have larger bolsters and are reclinable via a round dial type.

They need to be cleaned extensivly before I do something with them, They are moldy but foam is in good shape as well as material.

I do like the EU clothe sport seats, I haven't seen a US spec car with them so I am unsure if we ever got them??

Oh and when you disassemble some of the seats for parts you see Recaro printed on some parts.
