    Quarter mile

I used the search feature and didn't get any results. If I over looked it, sorry. I just wanted to know what I could expect to run at the 1/4 mile. I know I've seen/read about some of the guys on here posting times, but I can't find them.

    I'm going to guess 16sec.

Convert=heavy, filter=nothing, no name chip=?, plus factor in probable high mileage.

BMWs are not for straight line......but for curves.

Yeah, I know it's not made for drag racing, but some fag at my school as some 1985-1989 or so Civic Hatchback and I heard he ran a 16 something. I would just hate for some piece of shit to be faster than mine. And driving around here, I know my car would smoke him, but for us having the same quartermile time just makes me think different.

I would be guessing 17s. 16s is what a stock 325i would run.

            THAT's what I'm looking for. I don't think I'd run a 17. Maybe high 15's.

If you've never done it before, don't expect 15s. It's a lot of technique. Your cab is heavier than a coupe too.

My thoughts exatcly. I'd assume your best time, given a great launch would be mid-16s. Your average time would fall under low 17s. Could also be a little less with the mods...

But that's just me. There's an easy way to find out though.... take it to the strip :)

cab is only roughly 200lbs heavier depending on the year. So a M20 stick in fine tune will be about .1 or .2 seconds slower. Take out the spare and the 55 lb anchor in the trunk where the battery is in coupes and your down to about 100 lb difference and .1 or less seconds slower.

my Eta w/ just a bav auto chip & otherwise completely stock ran a 16.188. i never drag raced my car before.

(however there WAS a top fuel night or something the day before, so the track was REDICULOUSLY sticky... it almost took effort to walk across it cuz your shoes would stick to the pavment. i remember hearing my tires literally peeling themselves off the pavment while rolling up to the line & pulling down the track)

just remeber if you want a good track time....play with your launch rpm and tire pressures.....and try to go right after a "big boy" (a guy with drag slicks, that they spray tire bite down for)

when you get back post your results and i can maybe help u with em.

btw.....power shift....and push allllllllll the way don't let go of the acel pedal till you past the time boards.

i was running dead even with a friend of mine and his brand new tiburon. well, he got to the track last week (1/8 mile) and ran a 9.3. granted i had alot of mods, but when i was stock i ran a 10.733. i dunno if that helps u at all but my guess is that i would have run in the mid-high 15's to low 16's with all my mods.

                          Running

I have an 87 325ic cone, and ghetto chip which I'm starting to think doesn't have fuel maps just an increased rev limit

I'm slightly faster than my friends 2002 Civic SI hatchback if I wind out to 6800 and his car is faster than any other Civic Si we've come across. Of course my other friend's Turbo FC RX-7 walks off from me a 1st and 2nd gear and then that stupid 325i 3rd gear pull of doom kicks in and he stops getting farther away. For shits n giggles I raced my friends gutted turbo CRX we made alot of noise and scared some old ladies but once he got on boost his car shot off.

My suggestion is go get a 4.10 lsd and you'll be nasty fast. Its the equivalent of some kid with a stock 92-95 civic ex putting a 4000 dollar greddy turbo kit on his car, which is to say yes you'll be faster than stock and you'll smash off past cars you used to only hang with but leave the vettes alone till you get some real boost.

or you could accept the fact that there will always be a fag with a shittier car thats faster than you...
