I currently have an old UUC "Competition" shift kit with the ERK which in no uncertain terms is a notchy, high effort piece of crap. I don't have any of the new Evo3 shifter super bearing crap...this is from like 1999.
I'm thinking of switching shift kits, as I want something that's a little more pleasant for traffic, and perhaps something that will actually make my shifting faster, not just shorter.
In any case, my big decision is whether to retain the ERK or not. I'm either going to go with the Z3 2.8/3.0 or the Z4 3.0 lever, both of which are supposed to place the selector rod at an od angle. The ERK is supposed to counter this.
So, what do you guys think? Is the ERK worth saving with one of the two levers above? Does it actually do what it's supposed to?
