What would you like to see added/revised in the Bentley?
So, Bentley Manual owners, what would you like to see added or revised in the E30 manual?
I think its pretty good, but there are some extra stuff it could use
like another 200 pages like the rest of the bentley line-up... compared to the corrado manual the e30 one leaves alot to be desired... things are left more vauge and conceptual in the e30 manual.. things like here is how to do it on the 318.. its something sorta like that on the 325 this is where its is on the 318 but no diagran of the 325... the corrado oneis alot more specific about how to do things and where things are
i guess its easier with the corrado tho.. there are alot less variations
... not that its bad.. but its the worst of the bentleys i have had the oportunity of looking through.. still alot better than say a chiltons or hayes
maybe more detail on the wiring differences between models would be nice... seems a little lacking in that aspect
My Friend's dad just bought a bentley. That thing is a beast. I saw this huge ass white car in teh distance with a big silver grill coming at me, thought it was an escalade at first, then as it got closer I saw it was a brand new bentley, then as it got closer I realized who was driving it!
EDIT: Then as I read the first post I saw this was about the bentley manual. Oops.
My request would be better indicing, and gross, gross detail over everything they cover. But I'm anal about those things. Ask Jordan. He has to deal with my writeups I propose
So Jared did you actually get that gig with Bentley Publishers? Or are you just trying to find a way in? :D
As for the manual.
I think it needs some more procedures. They go over the big ones pretty well, but they kind of skip over some of the little ones involved in getting ready to do those. IMO
EDIT: Just read what "natorious" wrote, and it is perfect! Do as he says! :D
Is the Bentley not to helpful for the m42's? I went to Assael BMW here by me and the parts guy let me look through it but i could only find detailed info on the m20 and not really for the m42.
start with the E30 one. The chassis one is more useful. The engine stuff wouldnt be a perfect carryover anyway because you have an M40 which is a bit different from the E36 M42.
More detailed interior stuff like working with the dash would help.
Sometimes there are multiple types of a certain part, made my different manufacturers, and the Bentley will not indicate that. For example when I wanted to change my voltage regulator, the manual indicates a quick swap right on the back of the alternator. It took me about a day or 2 online to realize that I have a Valeo, and not the Bosch, which is the only one the manual covers. It's not like it's an aftermarket replacement either, it's an OE part.
