    getting an apartment

So I think Im taking a semester off from school next fall so I can get a job and make some more money to help pay tuition. Its almost 40 grand a year up at St. Lawrence. Im going to be taking some part time classes part time at the local SUNY school so I wont fall behind credit wise and can still graduate in 4 years.

But by doing so Ill get my own apartment! Im pretty excited to live on my own for the first time. Ill be right next to school so as not to lose contact with any of my friends so itll just be like I have an off campus apartment. Downside, Im 19 and have no fucking clue what it takes to get an apartment. Utilities, the phone bill? Anyone got some tips to make apartment living easy for the new guy next door? Thanks

For money wise, it is probably the hardest one, but find a roommate that you guys you can live with. I have found living with someone and being someone's good friend is completely different sometimes. But that way you can split utilities and other stuff. I think I pay around $80 a month for water/electric/gas/cable.
