    Lets get some M20 PROOF!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone have any dyno sheets or E.T.'s for their N/A M20's before and after their engine build?? Maybe even a before and after timed 3rd gear pull on a flat road. Just something to compare.

It seems like there is a lot of discussions on the forums about how much power these engines makes with different mods, but no one hardly ever has any kind of proof. Then the threads always go off into some lame arguement of N/A vs. turbo vs x50 swap which isn't even related.

What do ya'll think about doing a comparison of 3rd gear runs from 2000-6500 rpms on a flat road, and compare the results? Of course temperature will play a big role, and so will diff ratios, but most of us with M20's have 3.73.

I figure with 2nd gear, it wouldn't be long enough for good data, and with 4th, it would be really illegal! And staying in 1 gear would be more accurate due to peoples different shifting styles.

Let's post the run times, mods, and temperature, and see what we've got!!!

you know, its not fair that you post non-whp numbers if it wasnt on an engine dyno

He is asking about built M20's which usually run off the i Motronic system or better.

Pfft, fine, although the conversion is accurate as calculated from a stock baseline on the same dyno.

Those numbers are nothing to be ashamed of, even if they seem low for an older designed SOHC 12V motor. With standalone engine management, you probably would have been over the 200WHP barrier.

Anyone who thinks those "seem low" is a moron. I did have proper engine management and it was very well tuned.

Almost 200 rwtq is really the number you should be concentrating on anyway. I bet if he wanted to get 200 whp he could have just put in some ricockulous cam.
