man you guys are brutal, as literal as our nine year old. I rephrase, shells with spot rust in not so structural areas can fetch 500-1000$. I suppose when I say shells, I mean running hoopties, that in my mind are little better than a shell. Plenty of running 2002's with bad paint, rust in prone areas, and tired mechanics seem to go for 1500-2000$. Tii's in little more than name only sell for even more. Here's an example of a tired rusted POS, but since it's a roundie tii on the title, someone will pay 2500$ for it:
    completed ebay auction
When I was in the market for one about 5 years ago, prices were higher, they were trendy for a while.

Well, you made it sound like a statement of fact- not your impression or opinion. Don't take it personally....

I agree that some of the stuff I've seen up for sale is priced WAYYYYY too high, but I'm pretty sure you can still pickup a "project" car for ~$1000 or less, rusty shells are worth a couple hundred max- unless they are tii or have lots of good newish parts on them. I should know, I've got about 6 2002's in various stages, mostly "projects" (for someone else) or parts cars....
