Is there a list of what year / trim line had what gear and lsd. There is many in the yards around me and this would make it easier to pick the one that suits me best

Why would you take into account which car came with which diff when you're trying to decide which diff to get?

Tell us what gear you want, and if you want just an open diff or an LSD and we can tell you what year/model E30 that came with it. There is no list per se, unless someone who knows everything is willing to make one up and post it somewhere.....

Thanks for the site. So according to that chart if is is correct the 87 325i that is at the junk yard has a 3.73 I would guess a lsd to ? I am looking for lsd more so and the 3.73 is as much gear as I want in a daily driver/eta sinnce it won't rev

The only true way to tell is to count the revs. Because people do the strangest things, ie swap the tag because the know a diff with an lsd will sell for more.
