Who is into, or at least knows something about RC cars?

I just got a full setup for free, and I've got loads of questions I want to ask, but I dont know anyone thats into it. anyone one here?

BTW- I got a RTR Nitro RS4 3 Evo. I just want to play with it, not spend a shit load of money, or go racing or whatever. Like I said, i haven't spent a penny, so I dont really care if this car isnt up to 'race spec' or whatever

Me, it's been over a year since I last had an RC car so I"m a little rusty on the new stuff. But i've had the nitro chassis before the one you have. The RTR version is great to get started with. Is it Brand new? Used?

hey Rob, I race them competitively around the east coast/midwest, so just let me know what questions you have. The Nitro RS4 line is perfect for just playing with it, as the plastics in the suspension arms are not race ready (graphite impregnated plastics), but they are not too flexy either, and the HPI's do not have as many adjustments to get screwed up on. HPI's are good cars, but you will find that if you break a part, you have to buy the whole parts tree. Anyways, hit me up on AIM (name: tuxkilla) or e-mail tuxkilla at comcast.net

...just be prepared to spend lots of dough if you jump it. plastic parts like to break easily when you jump your car. ive broken my rear shock tower on my nitro rustler 3 times before i got wise and bought an aluminum one (traxxas cars are cheap so you might not have this problem). just my two cents.

Why would he be Jumping an on-road car? If you want to go off jumps by a truck or buggy.

            offroad pwns you.

but yeah, the HPI RS4 is a good play around with car. get some really hard compound tires so you dont eat through them. the ones that are most likely on there (stock probably) will be gone after about a few times driving it.

have fun slamming into curbs and chasing neighborhood dogs.

Rob, get in touch with or PM my brother in law, his name is Andrew (NitroRustlerDriver on this forum). He eats, sleeps and breathes RC cars. He can tell you pretty much anything you need to know.

thanks for the thoughts guys. since the car isn't technically mine (although for all intents and purposes it is) I dont think I'll do much more than maintain it. I'll play with it in a local parking lot, and use it as a time waster basically. Thanks for the advice on the tires, any brands I should look for?

Yes. Don't put any money into it because it will inevitably break.

                    i wish i could un-purchase mine.

Word. I've got an RC10T... haven't ran it in about 5 years, but I still have it in a box with a ton of accessories and whatnot.

Rob check the phone book to see if there is a Hobby town USA near you. I was running Proline Sedan Speed Hawg's on my HPI Pro II Electric sedan They did great on un groomed roads and it took them a good long time to wear down. Now with My kyosho V-one S I wore the tires bald in about 3-4 runs. The last time I drove it I blew out the tires as they wore past the rubber and down into the foam inner donuts. I sold the car instead of buying new tires
