anyone in here familiar w/ the E34 M5?

I'm lookin to purchase a '91 w/ 125k, and some minor body dings. Anyhow, I was wondering (since I don't have my ETK anymore) does the M5 share the same runnin gear as the regular E34's? like control arms, tie rods, struts, etc etc?

Having been an E34 owner and seeing a few M5's, I assume the differences are just the springs/dampers, brakes, engine, gearbox, wiring/ECU, LSD & then of course minor body & interior differences.

Reason I'm askin is I don't wanna get pounded with M prices when it comes to buying parts :) Fingers crossed it's got a good engine & gearbox!!

    Thanks

They are good cars, but you will need at least a "$15k" initial investment in most cases.

GL with the purchase. I do have a set of used Original BMW M-Parallels for sale. PM me if your interested. (Front) 18x8, (Rear) 18x9.5. Slight blemishes.

Oops nevermind then I guess. just looked. China is pretty far from here....

the e34 is ver similar to the e30 in terms of M stuff. You will get jacked with the M love.

Thanks Annie, luckily this car had an a_sload of work done to it within the past 5,000 miles....I'll know more after I fly up to Chicago thurs to see it along with all the receipts.

ya mike, pretty much why I chose it....would rather get an E30 M3 but this will be our family car for now and with 2 kids we need 4 doors :) I hope this one is a good example cuz by all accounts the E34 M5 is a helluva ride....fingers crossed!!
