    MAF vs Speed/density

my brother got a car the other day an 87 dodge colt turbo. its a gay ass piece of shit 4 door. he thinks hes king shit now that he has a turbo car.... ne way, he asked me if it was MAF or Speed density. i had no clue what to say. is there anyway to tell?

Speed density, Also known as a M.A.P or manifold-absolute-pressure
(honda uses this and is much better then a M.A.F in my opinion)

You have an A.F.M or air-flow meter.
It uses a mechanical flapper barn-door that is physically pushed aside by the intake air stream. The volume of this air-flow then determines how much the door opens. The door then is mechanically attached to a variable-resistor assembly that then sends a variable-voltage signal to the computer that roughly correlates to the volume of air flowing past it

Crude and inaccurate to the Max!

yet gets the job done and is a pretty reliable hunk-of-metal.
