because I've talked to several shops that do glass. They all said that the aftermarket glass holds up better than the bmw glass. And it has nothing to do w/ sales cause I wasn't buying anything, just ppl I know in the field. Plus if anything you would think that they would want to sell you the BMW glass since its more.

Plausible - I would not be surprised if BMW factory glass was made by GM - I heard that they had the market on glass for years in the 80 and 90's.

Last parts car I was working on, I "tested" a side window with a standard hammer - FULL swing like a batter. It didn't even crack.

Another car (an poorly treated e32) I tested how much of a swing you have to give a car a "door ding" - you have to almost kick open a door to dent it to a steel beam. So if you have any or get some - you know it was an accident.

The front windshield is designed to SHIELD occupants from road debris and other objects that would come through and cause injury. This is why it is called a windSHIELD. I would think this concept to be very basic. While it may be somewhat easy to crack and splinter, to full PUNCH right through it I just don't believe. Even in an Arnold movie. (Yes it did happen once, however, he was a Terminator AND he was after Sarah Conner) So, I will accept either a video of the window being punched through OR proof that you are a Cyberdyne Systems Model 101 or better T1000, TX, etc. Until then I call B.S. Sorry.

It's not easy to do, but it is possible. I saw my little brother try it, and his hand just bounced off the windshield.

haha, I remember watching the 'making of Terminator' years ago, and how they had a machine, hidden from camera view which Arnold had to match his actions with that of the machine because even Arnold knows that punching windshields is stoopid :hitler:

Windshield doesnt seem possible to punch through to me either. Isnt there a film in the center of the glass that holds it together? I threw a brick at a windshield it cracked but it all was together still. On the other hand I have punched out (they shatter) windows. Which even then was a bad idea because I was bleading all over the place.

shut the hell up. it's not that hard to break glass, let alone put an appendage through it. sure, it hurts like hell, but it's not impossible. get your head out of your ass
