    Fred's a good guy. He's runs a small independent BMW shop and many people around use him for maintenance on their cars, even newer ones(E39, X3s, X5). In fact he just moved into a larger shop because business was so good.

    But yeah continued driving on an OIL pressure light was bad. think he learned his lesson.

    No way man, if you just turn the engine off immediately and get it checked out you'd be just fine.

    Its only a "you're fucked" light when you keep driving for 6 weeks.

    Gonna pull out an old quote of mine for this one.

    "Regular maintenance just made you its bitch."

    so far $2100 gets me
    2 front drive shafts and a new oil Pump and CRANKSHAFT WITH BEARING SHELLS
    so its that a good price.
    so far I spend
    $190 on oil Pump
    $ 200 on Engine off ( e30 member)
    $ 2100 for labor and 2 front drive shafts and replacing the crankshaft and bearings is this a good deal or what?.

    wow that blows.

    honestly $620 to get the ix oil pump replaced is a steal.. the pump itself is over $200. too bad your crank is dead. :(

    Thanks for the pics Bimmerista. Yesterday I had a Oil Engine light. I pulled the Oil pressure sensor and sprayed some break cleaner. Now the light is gone.

    bad thing that you didnt SEE the light and CHECK on the condition of your engine.

    Bmw may have put it there for a reason.....?

    well I am not getting any oil pressure to the top of the engine.
    I have to wait to get the parts and see what the total damage is.
