dropped $700 in parts towards an m30 swap today....

So much for my fat checking account...

    Transmission Mount $ 23.90
    Clutch Kit, Sachs $ 224.00
    Clutch Slave Cylinder $ 36.90
Engine Mount, Left and Right $ 25.90
    Oil Pump $ 209.90
    Belt, Alternator $ 5.90
    Oil Pan Gasket $ 5.90
    Valve Cover Gasket $ 5.90
    Chain Tensioner Piston $ 6.50
    Chain Tensioner Spring $ 0.75
    Hose Kit $115

    totals around $700...

And to answer your question - is all of this really needed? NO...therotically you could find a M30 and drop it right in with out ever replacing one single part on it. But I plan on keeping the car for a while - so even if I replace good parts, the old parts just become spairs...

I'll be putting up my spreadsheet for the entire swap soon...so stay tuned.

you should of let me known about the oil pump I've got a $65 shipped used one on hold for me :D
I was thinking my swap would cost me under $500(not including labor on the driveshaft and shift linkage) But since I just got a cylinder head and no block I'm thinking of rebuilding. Probally next time I go to the junkyard I'll grab a block. Plus while I was at the machine shop today I asked about port work and they quoted me $200 to port both the intake and exhuast on the m30 head, Damn tempting.

ya he has a block but I'd have to ship it the local yard wants $60 for a complete block. I need to go work pn pulling the rocker shafts off this head so I can get it cleaned and decked.
