    Volvo 262C

    I ran past this car for sale on my way back from getting my sport seat installed and didn't know what kind of Volvo it was. I snapped it with my camera phone. I found out it was the 262C by Bertone and about 6600 were made in 5 years. I had never seen a Volvo Coupe this old, so I was wondering if this a rare care of sorts, or just another old Volvo?

    They're not real common, but there tend to be quite a few of them still on the roads, they have a bit of a following. I've seen a couple of them up around ohio, they're very attractive cars.

        i saw a bright orange one of those parked in a wal-mart parking lot about 2 months ago.

        i was baffled by it. i couldnt belive it was a volvo. at first i thought it was a chop job because the roof looks so low. apparently its stock. i though it was a pretty sweet car.

          Aw dayam..
          That is a very exotic car even by Swedish standards since most were exported to the US. Not many left on Swedish roads I can tell you.. the climate here makes sure that cars only survive if people drive them only in the summer time. I hear it's the successor to the P1800, an even sweeter car which is a lot more common here in Sweden.

            Didn't Bertone also design a 7-series coupe for Volvo (762 - maybe)? But anyhow, those are pretty cool looking cars; they almost look like a custom 'chop-top'.

            P1800s rule.

              I think it was the 780 series that replaced the 262C. Yeah, went I drove past it I thought it was a chopped Volvo sedan too, but noticed only 2 doors. I may see what the guy is asking. Hehe, may be more trouble than it's worth!

                ya my friend is into volvo's that lives up the street. he told me about turbobricks a week ago and i checked it out. some of those cars dont look to shabby. I'll beat him tho when i get my license

                btw just got my Mganaflow muffler and z4 2.9l shifter put it! SWEET but my mom hates it and wants it off :roll:

                    Chassis / suspension parts are standard 240 which are plentiful and have alot of aftermarket support.

                    The body / interior are specific to this model and are $$$ due to their rarity.

                    Engine swaps are easy... v8's fit in as well as the Volvo turbo'd inline 4's.
