Bad Luck turns into good luck

6 months ago I bought new exhaust rubber hangers as the old one were worn out and the exhaust rattled. Fast forward to the night before when I go to put them on and I see that the welds have broken where the pipes attach to the muffler.

Yesterday I head to the muffler shop as these guys can weld anything. On the way I am about to head through a busy intersection when I don't have any gas pedal. Fortunately I am revving high enough at idle that I limp through the intersection with everyone getting pissed.

Ends up being the accellerator cable broke. BMW of Little Rock does not have one in stock. Neither does Roy Rogers. I call Skip in Conway who shares the love of BMW 02s. He has a good used one that I can have. He asked why I was down on Asher (bad part of town) and then he tells me that the muffler shop beside his shop has an exhaust for a 325i that they tried to sellto him for $125 as they purchased someone's inventory.

So I go pick up the free accellerator cable and a complete exhaust for $125.

I put the cable in as it was raining yesterday as the car sat in a parking lot. I'll be putting the exhaust in after I finish typing this long laborious thread. :D

    Cheers,

    Doug

Yep, my 325i is all original except for the wheels I put on it. No chips, tricked suspension, or anything.

Just good fun daily driving. We've got the terrain here in Central Arkansas to make 3rd gear your favorite in the twisties.

It's my daily driver until I get my '73tii all sorted out. Then they will take turns.

        Cheers,

        Doug

          Hey Capucastro,

I can sell you mine in a couple of months. It is an oem and sounds great, but I am doing some upgrades soon.
