What 325I-2 means

just purchased a 1991 325I-2, is a two door with all the IS trim on it and factory installed side skirt, but it it badged as a 325I and on the vin tag by the door has a 325I-I, do not know the meaning of this.

You pretty much got it right .

US model year 1991 there was no "is" model ....however you could get the "sport package" but it just did not have the "s" badging .

The -2 means its a coupe .

are you sure the 2 doesnt mean anything about it being a facelift model? I know here in germany they have abreviations for the 2 different models on all of the TUV stuff.
I have no idea, just a thought though.

I was wondering the same thing when i got the car, ran carfax and it is accurate, got the title is a two owners car, was sold in 2003 by the original owner with less than 43K.
If anybody has carfax, please run it again and email it to mgrulon@aol.com, i did not save it.
