Dang, I didn't know that so many e30 guys were into RC. I've got a pretty good stash, but havn't driven them too much lately.
Losi XXXT: Bunch of graphite stuff and a 10-turn motor, I race it at the local track (Planet RC Raceway)
Kyosho Mini-z Overland: great car for trips and does pretty well off-road. Its got the x-speed motor, some aluminum stuff, new tires, shocks, and a light kit
HPI RS4 rally: bought it new in box, and it is a blast to drive. The suspension is heavier duty than normal RS4's, so I've never broken anything. Loves the dirt and snow, and I've even driven it successfully on a buggy/stadium truck track. It takes the jumps pretty well. Its got sways and a decent motor, got an M3 and e39 M5 body for it, as well as the WRX that came with it.
Looking to get rid of an original Associated RC10 truck with all of the fiberglass parts, steel tub chassis, and ball diff. Also have an associated L3O oval car and an L3 pan car set up for road racing, both have Factory Team parts. I never run these, but got them for a good price. If anyone is interested, let me know.
I have 3, one's got stage a stage 2 motor and suspension, one's got AWD, and suspension, one is broken. IMO these are the best for the money, can't beat $50 for what you get.
I also have probably 10 crappy $20 electric cars
Hell yeah and they are on sale right now. starter kits are $20-$30 and all mods are $1.
I used to have a T maxx with a fantom .18 motor and a bunch of crap but I had to set it free to cause a new owner misery and sorrow.
My brother left two other T maxx trucks at my house for me to work on so I might claim his old pro.15 truck as a storage fee;0
I was into to RCs for a while. Raced at a local track and all.
RC10 T3 and a Losi Mini T
the t3 has some wild paint my uncle did for me.
The T3 has a 10turn, lots of graphite and a NI/MH battery. Beats some of my freinds old nitro trucks.
I dont get them out much anymore. Maybe tuesday on my day off.
started a LONG time ago with a ol TA02w the castrol supra. dont have any pics of that. gave it to my brother to destroy. have a tt01 now. its finished up to the expensive part motor, battery, radio time.
i think im going to buy another shell, cause i f**ked up the paint on this one. plus i just got the real car and its white, so it would be cool if it looked like my car. even though the spare body costs as much as the whole kit.
anyone have any reccos on what to run for a motor and battery? i was thinking the castle creations mamba brushless with li-ion batteries?! but i heard the batteries are not to safe yet or something?!?! pm me with advice so we dont muck up this thread with opinions.
i have a stock HPI Nitro MT1 that keeps destroying itself, and costs an annoying amount of money to maintain, and a pretty baller HPI rs4 rally that i made a track for in my yard back in the day. i havent really used them in a long time.
My first car, which i eventually took apart and lost all the parts too, was a tamiya jeep wrangler, and i built that when i was 8 or 9, and i loved that thing. it had really realistic supsension and the body was really realistic as well, it was gangster. i wish i still had it, because they dont make it anymore.
one of the guys i worked with in my schools machine shop had a tamiya bruiser i think, it was the really realistic truck from the 80's with a metal ladder frame chassis and a 3 speed gearbox. its really cool.
oh i also had a losi xxt-cr which i got graphite suspension parts and a graphite chassis for. i miss that thing too. i used to race cars down my road (the speed limit is 25).
