    2.93LSD - 4.10LSD Trade...Sound Right To You?

My brother's '89 325iS automatic came with a 2.93LSD for some odd reason -- I'm thinking it was swapped in the past.

I know of someone locally who is putting an M52 with a 5-speed out of a '95 M3 into an E30. They have a 4.10LSD in it right now since it was an automatic 325is to start.

Would the 2.93LSD not be a good match to the M52/E36 5-speed?

I'm thinking it would benefit both the other party and my brother if they trade straight across, so he can have the 4.10LSD in his automatic '89iS (which isn't getting a motor swap any time soon).

    Thoughts?

Also, I believe the person with the '95 M3 transmission will need an E30 M3 driveshaft for the swap, correct?

Your brother should be giving him some money. The 4.10s are worth a bunch more than the 2..93s. Also the best rear for him would be a 3.25 or 3.46. A 2.93 is a little steep with the ZF unless you are pushing some power. E30 m3 drive shaft with the ZF, correct.
