I learned on 'The Mustard Monster', a yeller 1983 Volvo 245DL 4spd w/OD. What a slow, indestructible piece with dukey brown guts. That was at 14. By the time I was licensed, we had a 1989 745GL w 5spd and a sunroof. Another slow, even more indestructible car that was nice when we got it. We sold it to a friend after my brother scraped it up a bit and said friend proceeded to make videos of our old wagon smashing through just about anything at 60mph. He put another 35k on it and sold it with over 200k and some good training for a title run at the demolition derby. Because of this history, I have a soft spot for volvos that ignores all the quirky bullshit about them. I will always want to do a nasty 242 turbo. Maybe someday...Leave a comment:

I learned on my brothers '84 318 in our driveway, I think it was on my 14th birthday. I'm sure I wore out the clutch quite a bit.Leave a comment:

Learned on an old Dodge work truck, but perfected on an early 70's EconoLine Van. 3 on the tree with a dead spot in the steering nearly a full turn. Talk about exciting!Leave a comment:
