    Bending Shift Lever Method

For the guys who bend their short shift levers to make them sit vertical at neutral, what method are you using to secure and bend it?

    Vise? Press? Huge muscles?

Also, do you bend it nearer to the ball or up higher near the thick part of the lever? Thanks

BFH, vice, and heat should do the trick. And bend it at the base of the rod, like the factory shifter.

That said, I didnt bend my short shifter rod, because it sat plenty vertical for what I wanted anyway.

    Good luck.

Thanks for the response. That's kind of what I was thinking. Anyone else want to weigh in?

Three sockets and a vise. :)

I used two pieces of oak molding with a 1/2" hole drilled in the middle, then cut in half, and clamped it in a vise, and used a large piece of black iron pipe over the shift knob end to get the desired bend.
