      Bumping this thread. I have a grey market import 12/1982 production date car in my hands, and want to find out production number and how early this car is. It doesn't have the typical two alphas followed by five digits for the last seven of the VIN. Any ideas where to find more info?

      EDIT: I see there were 15,580 produced in 1982, that's even less than the 1992 and 1993 production numbers. I'm betting the number of 1982 cars in the US is quite low.
